Showing elementary age children the Torah
Committed to community, engagement, and meaning-making, I am a passionate individual excited about the future of Reform Judaism. As a product of NFTY, Heller High (the Reform Movement's Semester in Israel program), and GUCI in Zionsville, IN, youth and teen engagement is a priority to me. I love engaging with the challenges of the 21st century through the lens of the Jewish tradition and translating that to all those I meet! The picture to the left shows me with Rabbi Daniel Sher, after we completed riding 62 miles in Tour de Summer Camps, raising money to send Jewish kids to camp!
Growing up in Bexley, OH and Overland Park, KS, I loved singing the Amidah throughout our house. My mom, brother and I attended services every Friday night, while my dad lead the service from the bimah. Judaism was a constant, the thing I pushed back against and challenged, as well as the place I found comfort. It provided me a place to be myself as I got lost in the prayers and pages of our tradition. From there, it was only a question of when I would go to Rabbinical School. In school, I formalized my love of working with children by earning a Masters of Jewish Education from the Rhea Hirsch School of Education.
An avid cyclist and amateur gardener, I find a way to get outside as much as I can. I love baking (both gluten free and regular), especially challah. My two kittens, Shlomo and Shaya make my apartment a playful experience and always bring a smile to my face!
